Laurence C. Rubin, CPA is a Partner in the firm's Tax Services Group, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in serving small businesses and high net worth individuals. Larry graduated magna cum laude from Towson State University in 1987 with Bachelor's Degrees in Accounting and Economics.
Since joining the firm in 2000, Larry has specialized in providing small business start-up and growth stage guidance, tax planning and compliance services for businesses and high net worth individuals, and worker classification advisory services. As a trusted and objective advisor to his clients, he helps them understand the tax implications of their day-to-day choices and then works with them to create immediate and long-term tax planning strategies to minimize risk and liability.
With their best interests always in mind, Larry represents clients before federal and local governments to negotiate tax debts and resolve tax disputes, including individual and business income tax examinations, worker classification disputes, reasonable compensation audits of “C” and “S” corporations by the IRS, and other targeted audit programs. His ability to present tax issues in layman’s terms has served him well in his work testifying before the courts as an expert witness in civil litigation matters.
Larry is frequently called upon to make presentations regarding practical business and tax topics to organizations like the Washington Board of Trade, Northern Virginia Technology Council, and presentations on a national level for industry associations. As an expert commentator, he has appeared on “Wealth of the Nation” on CBS radio’s Big Talker 1580 AM, and contributes articles and commentary to Aronson Blogs and MarketWatch. Larry is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. |
