The Aronson Foundation recently gave a generous gift to Building Bridges Across the River (BBAR) at the recommendation of Aronson Managing Partner and BBAR Board of Directors Treasurer, Jeffrey P. Capron. This contribution will support the Town Hall Education Arts & Recreation Campus (THEARC).
The mission of BBAR is to improve the quality of life for children and adults who reside east of the Anacostia River by providing leadership, management, and financial oversight of THEARC. Through a collaboration of partner organizations, THEARC provides access to high quality educational, health, cultural, recreation, and social service programs. By providing these programs, BBAR and its partners aim to contribute to the revitalization of the community in Southeast Washington, D.C.
“On behalf of [BBAR], [we] would like to thank you for the generous donation,” remarked Edmund Fleet, Executive Director, Building Bridges Across the River. “In Ward 8, where THEARC is located, just over half of the children live in poverty and more than two-thirds come from single-parent households. Since its official opening in 2005, THEARC has already served over 85,000 residents of Southeast DC community with the offered social and cultural programs.”
The Aronson Foundation has been a devoted supporter of BBAR and THEARC for several years. Since its inception in 2004, the Aronson Foundation has donated in excess of $1,250,000 to worthy causes. These contributions are only made possible through the generosity and enthusiasm of Aronson team members. The Aronson Foundation is committed to giving back to the people who have made our community such a wonderful place in which to do business and live.
